About Me

Kevin PerazaHello, my name is Kevin Peraza. The central idea about my artistic work is to engage the viewer through enigmatic and unusual paintings, and fill them with intrigue while bringing originality, quality and creativity.

My career began when I was barely 10 years old with natural talent and inspired by different famous painters such as: Frida Kahlo, Remedios Varo, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Leonora Carrington, and others. At the age of 12 I started studying art in high school, gaining more knowledge and strengthening what I am passionate about today.

I started making pencil sketches on illustration paper inspired by the faces of artists such as Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Frida Kahlo, among others. In a very short time I started with acrylic painting and it was there where I made art a wonderful path in my life. Then I began to practice with facial features in my paintings to make self-portraits, capturing in them feelings and hidden key symbols, adding winks to my experiences, among many other things that I hope you will appreciate.

My greatest inspiration since I was little has always been my mother and although she is not dedicated to any branch of art, she has the courage to get what she wants, get ahead on her own and also find wonderful things in life.

In some paintings I make references or tributes to important women because they have been so influential in my life that it seems almost impossible to skip that detail. One of them I have used as my greatest muse is Maria Felix. She has also been the inspiration of many painters and art masters such as Diego Rivera, Leonora Carrington, and Antoine Tzapoff, just to mention a few.
